Weather of Croatia

The vast long stretches of the coastline gives Croatia an unique weather. The weather of Croatia is as varied as the country itself. The weather of Croatia in most places is very enjoyable and this factor draws people from all parts of the world to spend some days of absolute relaxation here. The languorous mood of the coastal places is best felt during the stay in Croatia. However, this variety of climate comes from the wide land surface of Croatia and also due to the coastal boundary. The variety starts changing from coastal places and keeps changing to the inland places. The weather of Croatia varies from the Mediterranean coast and continues up to the Adriatic coast and finally up to the interior of the continent.
The weather of Croatia around the coastal areas is mostly dry during the summer. However, in winter the weather is cold as rainfall is found during this part of the year. But the inland areas faces a different style of weather. The inland places of Croatia has warm summer and cold winter. The benefits of being near the coast is receiving the refreshing winds during the summer season. However, the mountains guards these places from chilling winter wind making the weather equable and livable.

Near the coast the temperature rarely falls below 10º during the winter but during the month of August the temperature can rise up to 26º. However, this change happens due to the warm currents flowing from the north of the Adriatic Sea. It is this breeze that keeps the temperature near the coast equable during the spring and early summer. This breeze is ideal to make the sails moving.

Continental climate prevails in the northern places of Croatia while the central part of Croatia has semi-highland or highland type of weather. However along the coastal places the temperature is mostly Mediterranean type. In the interiors of the continent winter temperature can range from -1º to 30º, in the mountainous region this temperature ranges from 15º to 20º.
