As far as the people of Croatia or the Croatian People are concerned, it has been estimated that the total population of this country is 74.68 percent and out of the 74.68 percent, the male comprise of 71.3 percent, whereas the female comprise of 78.53 percent.


It is the Croats, who dominate this country as they make up 89.9 percent of the total population. The other groups that have established their hold over this country as well as groups that are making the best of their efforts to get themselves noticed by the other communities are the Serbs who comprise of 4.5 percent and the other communities such as the Slovene, Hungarian, Roma and Czech make up 5.9 percent of the total percent of the ethnic groups.

96 percent of the people of Croatia use the Croatian language and the rest that is the remaining 4 percent people fall under the group of Serbian, Italian, German, Slovak and Czech speaking people.

Coming to the literacy rate of Croatia, the total population in this respect is 98.5 percent and the male literacy rate is 99 percent and the female literacy rate is not far behind, as it is 98 percent according to the estimate of the 2003. Therefore it could be said that the government of Croatia gives utmost importance to education.
